Yosemite National Park Day Trip
Yosemite National Park, one of the national park in U.S., and was pretty much the central to the development of national park idea in the States. I joined another 2 of my colleagues for day trip to there by driving all the way from Folsom, which is about 170 miles away. It was worth it even with such a long drive (~4hrs, with stops), with all those spectacular views of valley, granite cliffs, and waterfalls..etc.
We departed in the morning, at 7a.m., from Folsom. We went though Angles Camp, Sonora…etc
We stopped by the Vista Point at Don Pedro Reservoir on the Golden Chain Highway for some photos.
Of couse, Bo was there as well 🙂
And we drove through the CA-120 winding road after the reservoir towards Big Oak Flat Rd. The view is spectacular when you’re driving on the altitude of 3000ft. to 4000ft.
We went through the tunnel on El Portal Rd., and stopped by one of the vista point 100ft from the tunnel exit. A wonderful view from the ridge 🙂
Upon leaving the vista point, we drove down the road towards the Yosemite Valley, and spotted this amazing place right beside the Merced River.
After staying for about 15min, we moved further into the valley and stopped by at Sentinel Picnic Site.
By this time, it’s past noon, and we’re heading to the Yosemite Village for lunch and wanna try out the Yosemite Falls. After lunch, we went to couple of places, visited the Yosemite Museum, Yosemite Cemetery and walking around Yosemite Village towards the trailhead of Lower Yosemite Falls.
After a short while, we proceeded to the Upper Yosemite Falls, and along the way, there are nice views.
After a short hike towards Upper Yosemite Falls, we decided to head back due to the time is getting late and we planned to reach Folsom around 9.
