Batik…oh…Batik

April 20th was a wonderful day, we had a teambuilding event back in the Northern region of Penang Island, somewhere close to “The End of the World”, as we called it in Penang. It’s basically a small fishing village where the road ends and meet with the sea.

We had our first hands-on experience with Batik, a traditional cloth made with wax-resist dyeing technique. It can be done either by manually outlining the wax or using stamping methods to duplicate certain design on the cloth. Similar dyeing techniques have been observed in cultures around east Asian countries.
